About the Agreement

In 2017, the Lehigh University Libraries entered into an agreement with SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics. This agreement covers access to the SPIE Digital Library.

SPIE permits authors to post the final version (version of record) of their work to institutional repositories. Under this agreement, the Lehigh University Libraries can post all publications by Lehigh-affiliated authors to the Lehigh Preserve, simplifying the process for authors.

As part of the agreement, the Libraries must include an appropriate copyright notice and full citation with the paper, along with a link to SPIE's official online version of the abstract using the DOI (Document Object Identifier) link.

Instructions for Authors

The Lehigh University Libraries are currently formalizing a process for posting Lehigh-affiliated SPIE publications to the Lehigh Preserve, Lehigh University's institutional repository.

At this time, authors do not need to take any steps to have their publication posted openly to the Lehigh Preserve.

That said, if you would like to request expedited posting of your publication or request that your publication not be posted to the Lehigh Preserve, please contact preserve@lehigh.edu or use the contact form available at the link below.
