About the Agreement

The Lehigh University Libraries have entered into an Open Access (OA) publishing agreement with Emerald for 2025 via the PALCI consortium. This is a “read and publish” agreement that increases subscription access to Emerald journals. Lehigh University-affiliated corresponding authors can also publish their eligible, accepted articles OA in some Emerald journals at no cost to the researcher. This covers only hybrid journals, where some articles are OA, and some are subscription-access. Open Access publishing in fully OA (sometimes called Gold OA) journals is not included in this agreement. Article eligibility will be based on acceptance date, which must occur during the term of the agreement.

Thanks to this agreement, readers anywhere in the world will be able to access Lehigh University researchers' eligible publications immediately at Emerald journal sites. Importantly, Lehigh University affiliated-authors must be sure to be listed as the corresponding author, select Lehigh University as their institution, and use their @lehigh.edu email address in the publication process to ensure their research article is Open Access. Please see further instructions for authors below.

Eligible full-length article types include the following: case report, conceptual paper, literature review, technical paper, viewpoint, research article, review article, extended editorial, practitioner paper, impact article, brief report, and policy brief.

All of the journals in Emerald's eJournal Premier package are eligible. A title list can be viewed or downloaded from this site: https://www.emeraldgrouppublishing.com/ejournals-premier
