How to use RefWorks to organize, store, and share citations and generate bibliographies.

For New Users

Brief Instructions - Follow the steps below to create an account:

  1. Go to and enter your email address.
  2. Click the Check button.
  3. On the next page, enter your password, then click the Sign Up button. 
  4. A confirmation email will be sent. 
  5. Fill-in your first and last name, department, and role (undergraduate, faculty, etc.)
  6. You'll now be provided with some information about RefWorks. You can use options like Skip Tutorial or the icon to skip or close the information.
