As it relates to the Zettelkasten system of note-taking (see other page of this guide), a thorough literature review can help you identify publications on which you can take "literature notes".
Within Obsidian you can implement a literature review tracking system. There are various way to do so.
1.
You can create an Obsidian note with a link out to the following Excel spreadsheet, which helps your organize your research.
The "Literature Review Central" (LRC) spreadsheet identifies the steps involved in writing a literature review and helps you record and track your progress along the way.
Look for the annotations in the spreadsheet that describe the purpose of each of its worksheets.
You many want to link to a separate spreadsheet for each separate section or chapter of your writing project. This will help you keep the focus on resources and tasks relevant to each component of your project.
2.
Another is to create Obsidian notes to capture the information you can otherwise capture using the spreadsheet mentioned above. One way is to create a table of contents note within Obsidian that lists the titles of the spreadsheet worksheets. Enclose the titles within two brackets on each side of each title. Typing two brackets will create opposing brackets. Clicking on each title creates a separate Obsidian note in which you can put information for one component of the LRC spreadsheet. You can also create the notes separately and put them in an Obsidian folder. Within the notes you can create tables if you prefer a structured format like that in the spreadsheet.
