- TRAILTechnical Report Archive and Image Library. Specializes in PDFs of early reports not available from US federal agencies. Most items are free.
- TRID (Transport Research International Documentation) This link opens in a new windowCombines records from TRB’s Transportation Research Information Services (TRIS) Database and the OECD’s Joint Transport Research Centre’s International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) Database. TRID provides access to more than 1.3 million records of transportation research worldwide; largely engineering technical reports.
- USA.govPortal to all US agencies. Technical reports are a small portion of the available documents but this site often has the hard-to-find smaller agencies and State reports.
Overview
Many of the services listed here overlap coverage. Often reports previous to the mid-1980's are only indexed. Most of the engines provide sophisticated search options (technical report number, contract number, issuing agency, and the like). Unless otherwise indicated, these provide free access to reports.
