This guide was adapted from Keenious documentation created by Joelen Pastva from CMU Libraries.
Keenious is a research tool designed to help in the identification and discovery of scholarly articles.
Why use Keenious?
Using artificial intelligence combined with conventional search algorithms, Keenious works by analyzing text documents and PDFs to recommend the most relevant articles and topics to explore. Lehigh Libraries' subscription to Keenious allows for seamless integration with our library holdings, unlimited document length of uploaded text, cross language searches, and bulk export of results.
Keenious is available via a web browser for content uploads and text input, and can also be used as an add-on in Google Docs.
Note: If you are a student, you should always check with your instructor about permitted AI use before using a tool such as Keenious for your coursework.
Access to Lehigh's Keenious subscription is IP- or authentication-driven. To ensure streamlined access to Lehigh Library resource and the premium features of Keenious, users will need to access the tool in one of the following ways. (1) If you are accessing Keenious through the Lehigh wifi network or while on the VPN (select the "Library Resources" option), you should have full access to the tool.
(2) Users are also able to create their own account within Keenious using their lehigh.edu email address, which enables off-campus access when logged in and the ability to store results.
