Awareness of the Libraries' ebook collections will prove helpful when searching for content. It can also sometimes help to search or browse ebooks by collection. A sample of our ebook collections is listed below.
A few things to remember when using ebooks:
Ebooks cannot be borrowed or lent through interlibrary loan.
Some publishers restrict the amount of pages that can be copied or printed, or may not permit copying or printing at all.
Aggregated E-book Collections(include ebooks from multiple publishers)
eBrary is now known as Ebook Central. It is an e-book aggregator representing titles from many university and academic publishers, produces Academic Complete, a collection of over 85,000 books from a broad spectrum of publishers. Full text of scholarly journals, beginning with the very first issue of each title. Primarily humanities and social sciences titles.
There is a gap, typically from 1 to 5 years, between the most recently published journal issue and the content available through JSTOR. A broad range of disciplines are represented.
Social science/policy eBook collection featuring tiles from a number of university press publishers.
The format is PDF with each book divided into chapters that can be downloaded separately. Most of the titles are current but a few are from earlier years.
Publisher Ebook Collections (include ebooks from a single publisher)
Series of authoritative guides, written by leading experts in the field and used by students, scholars and non-specialists. Covers literature, philosophy, religion, classics, cultural studies, and music.
Oxford Reference includes dictionaries, including authoritative dictionaries for many languages, encyclopedias, and companions, featuring more in-depth but still brief entries, e.g. Oxford Companion to Classical Civilization.
