The Libraries provide access to many specialized resources for discovering content you can use in research projects. These are sometimes called research databases.
The Libraries list research databases on the A-Z Databases page which is linked below.
While you can scroll through the list of nearly 300 research databases on the A-Z Databases page, many of the resources are not relevant to Engineering research.
If you know the name of the database you are looking for, you can search using ctrl/cmd+F or by entering keywords into the "Database Title / Keyword" box, then clicking "Search." Note that this searches for a database on the list, it does not return results from within the databases.
An easier way to browse the list for resources relevant to your research is to limit the list by subject. To do this, click on the "Subjects" box, then scroll until you find the relevant subject. Click on the subject, for example "Bioengineering," than click "Search." This will return a list of databases that have been tagged as useful for the subject.
You can also see a basic version of the list in the tabs under the section of the page labeled "A-Z Databases Page Resources by Subject" below. Please select the tab corresponding with the abbreviation of the Engineering department you are interested in to view a list of database names associated with that department. "Best Bet" resources are highlighted at the top. For descriptions of the resources, please visit the full A-Z Databases page.
The Libraries provide many research databases to help you in your research. However, you might find that you don't know where to start, or you might feel like you're missing some important information.
Your Engineering Librarian is available to help recommend databases based on your research topic. They can also show you how to use the databases they recommend.
